Revitalize Your New Year's Resolutions
Mary Beth Young has owned and operated The Pilates Advantage for the past 14 years and has over 39 years of teaching experience in the fitness community. She started her career teaching aerobics, barre, sculpting, slide and more... as the industry grew and evolved, so did her career. Mary Beth has received many fitness certifications, including ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification, AFAA Certified Personal Trainer/Fitness Counselor, Mad Dogg Spinning Instructor Certification, and YogaFit Level I and II. After experiencing the benefits of Pilates first hand, it became her passion and she studied the practice rigorously. Her Pilates certifications include Mat Certification (Physical Mind Institute 1999), Reformer Essential/Inter-mediate Certification (STOTT Pilates 2003), Advanced Reformer Course Completion (STOTT Pilates 2003), Cadillac, Chair & Barrell (The Intelligent Body 2004), and the Pilates Intensive Workshop Certificate of Completion (The Pilates Center of Boulder, CO. 2006). Since 2007, Mary Beth has been a member and Certified Instructor through The Pilates Method Alliance. In addition, she has completed teacher training courses and workshops with other renowned Pilates schools, including the Kane School of Integration taking Pilates Rehab for Back Injuries, Unraveling Scoliosis and the Roll Model Method of myofascial release work by Jill Miller.

Wendy Slater is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist Licensed in Connecticut. She has completed the certificate of training in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Wendy strives to make eating a joyful and healthy experience, with a focus on nutritious, whole-food choices that are customized for her clients. Wendy loves advising all ages and has done so with over 25 years of experience in various settings including as an inpatient dietitian at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, wellness coordinator, long-term care consultant, and on staff at a pediatric practice. She specializes in weight management, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, PCOS, gastrointestinal disorders, general wellness, and functional medicine.
